News, Announcements and Favorite Image of 2008!

We have been hard at work doing all the stuff photographers do in January, the photographer's slowest month of the year, which fortunately follows the absolutely crazy busy Christmas rush.  We've been deep cleaning, organizing, packing up the fall and winter props and getting out the spring and summer props, and assembling and painting new props and backgrounds.  The D3 is at the Nikon shop getting checked/cleaned/repaired and the computers will soon go in the shop (yes, I am a week behind schedule on getting that done). 

We've also been comparing and researching some new things that will make our studio more efficient and convenient for our customers, and that is settled and on its way so we will have AN EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT VERY SOON! 

In the meantime, it's time to repeat something that was hugely successful and fun last year.  It's time for the FAVORITE IMAGE OF 2008 contest!  The rules are the same as last year - one vote per email address.  Just send your vote to me at dmichellefowler@hotmail.com.

The winners will receive:

First place:  A 16x20 portrait.

Second place:  An 11x14 portrait.

Third place:  An 8x10 portrait. 

Many of these images are from the Christmas rush period when I was too busy to post sneak peeks on the blog, so you will finally get to see those. 

I hope your 2009 is off to a great start.  I'll post pics of our Jan./Feb. "Vintage Victorian" set very soon.  It will be adorable for Valentine gift portraits.  The little boys' suspender outfits and the little girls' old fashioned gown are absolutely adorable.

Some shots from a very fun family...

I had a great time doing this family's pictures at their Christmas get-together, and best of all, they fed me!  It was all good, but the egg rolls and noodles were awesome.

just buried under a mountain of business!  Thanks everyone for your fantastic patronage this holiday season - our fifth and best year in business so far!  The sheer business and computer and internet problems we have been having have caused updating the blog and sneak peeks to be at the bottom of the list, but because pics upload soooo much faster to Facebook than to this website, we have managed to put a few on my page there.  So go and have a look if you would like, but keep in mind what you will see is not a "drop in the bucket" of what we have been doing lately - and I will update, as soon as I can, this website with some highlights of all the wonderful people whose memories I have been able to capture this holiday season.  Thanks so much everyone!  I hope your Christmas and New Year are truly blessed, as your friendship and patronage have blessed me.

An old friend...

It's hard to believe that I've known Christy since she was sixteen.  I won't say how long ago that was.  It was wonderful to tour her beautiful three story log cabin and talk about old times with her, David, her parents and all their four-legged children.  Ok so the four-legged children didn't talk back.  You know what I meant.
